A big Thank You to everyone who supported us for Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services’ 15th Annual “Footsteps for Recovery” Walkathon on May 9, 2015. We raised $37,000 through pledge donations, the silent Auction and BBQ sales.
Once again the rain held off and we started out with a sunny 5 km walk/run along the beautiful, tree-lined pathway between Britannia Park and Andrew Haydon Park led by Acting Deputy Chief Don Sweet.
Highlights for the day included:
- A Silent Auction with some wonderful packages, including hotel stays, golf packages, family recreation activities, a ViaRail travel voucher and two tickets to anywhere WestJet flies!
- Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo was back with their assortment of creatures ranging from a scorpion to a large albino python.
- Musical entertainment was provided by The Syntones.
- A delicious barbecue by our Executive Director.
This year our top individual fundraiser was Sandy Botham who raised $2,105 in pledges.
Everyone benefits from less substance use in our community and your contribution will help us reach that goal. Thank you again for your continued support!
