On May 10th, Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services’ 14th Annual “Footsteps for Recovery” Walkathon raised over $52,000 through pledge donations, a Silent Auction and BBQ sales.
Ottawa Police Chief Charles Bordeleau led over 125 participants at this fun filled, family friendly event starting out with a sunny 5 km walk/run along the beautiful, tree-lined pathway between Britannia Park and Andrew Haydon Park. Upon their return, attendees were able to enjoy a delicious BBQ and refreshments while listening to musical entertainment provided by Jarek Anderson. This year’s Silent Auction was a great success with some wonderful packages, including hotel stays, golf packages, family recreation activities, and two tickets to anywhere WestJet flies! Once again, Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo was a hit with the kids who got to handle Loki the Cayman, Ssssteve the Albino Python, and many other critters!
Rideauwood would like to express our enduring appreciation for Chief Charles Bordeleau’s ongoing support of this event and of our organization. We would also like to thank our Board of Directors, led by President Don Sweet, for their continued fundraising efforts. Thanks once again to the Rideauwood employees, volunteers, clients, and community members who assisted with organizing and fundraising for the event.
Rideauwood also thanks the sponsors for their contributions to the event:
